Hi everyone! I'm a CotW player. I have learned how to build the saved files by myself and I got perhaps the best saved gamed ever done. I have sent it to Rick Sada and he said I had done a hard work. To give you an idea of what I've done, I'm completely immune to every attack (including normal damage) except from Whirls casted by Surtur and from firebolt, lightning bolt, cold bolt and slow casted by wizards and necromancers. Moreover I can launch every spell without spending mana. I can also create monsters with some objects. I am immune to drain life. I kill everything with just a strike, I always hit my target. I can move really rapidly (speed 655 %) 


If you want me to edit your saved game file, tell me what you want. I can't solve the problems signalled before (damage from bolts and whirlwind and subject to slow). To solve them the game should be retyped.


I must say that now for me the game has become quite boring. I won't post my saved game file here since I think it shouldn't be fair. Maybe Rick Saada woulnd't be happy of this. The most I can do is sending them to your email address.


My saved file is the best I could do. That's the file of all your dreams, with objects which doesn't exist in the game. Or better, they exist, but not so powerful. That saved file makes ridiculus those which are posted on this site. Please if you want a perfect file just ask this one, it would be useless and tiring doing a new file for each of you. Moreover to get a really well done file you need to have already got to the 25th level of the dungeon, since I am able to edit just object put into it. And you will have Surtur alive, if you have not killed him. Also I will be very busy, so I don't know if I will ever manage to do even an only file.


Moreover now the game has become sooo boring for me. I've tried to create a third chapter of the saga. But I've not finished it, I'm no more interested in it and I should ask Saada's permission to distribute it. That's just a saved file for Castle of the Winds 2, and you have to open a Word file to follow my story (which I have not written). And you will get nothing new at the end of the game, you only have to go to King Liftathranshir to win. So it's a saved game of CotW 2 where you can just go around searching for my really powerful objects (one for each dungeon level).

Uh, I didn't remember having posted here. smile Well, I suppose I will do that when I come back home. Let's say in about a week. However now there is an editor you can use to pimp your character even beyond my saved game.


And for the story it doesn't exist since I had no time to write it. Just suppose Surtur has come back (with a lot of twins) when you were far from the castle, as he had promised to do. So now you must get your castle back with the sword. Just a little problem to get things more interesting: Surtur has get your whole equipment, you will have to fight to take it back again. And he has also your weaponry (is that the correct word?), if he will manage to open the seals which protect it there will be lots of troubles for all, since he will get objects with incredible powers.


Just a thing to point: using Rune of return when out of the castle is strongly dangerous. You will find yourself at the 25th level with lots of powerful monsters, and if you don't have the proper equipment you are almost certainly committing suicide.


What's more, I suggest not to post your email here in a form that could NOT be easily read by a bot. Don't post things such as "email here: email@gmail.com, post instead something similar to you "will find me here: email at (something useless between brackets just to confound bots, such as "monday tuesday wednesday") and now I continue the address (to make me understand you are continuing with it): gmail dot com". Or do an image with your address. Now I receive from time to time some spam because I have posted my email address in a forum like this one.

Here is the saved game. Just a couple of things:
1) once you have get the final weapon you can't change it, since the game crashes if you try;
2) some of the enchanted daggers with a name could not do any damage if used as weapons: they are thougt to be activated, not to normally attack (but you can still use them to do some unusual attacks); put them in your belt (the special one);
3) all the special objects have been named. There is also a scrap of parchment left just outside the village, which summons a monster if activated.
4) the Amulet of Kings can be activated, even if it doesn't seem so.
5) there are lots of monsters in the castle; and traps too...
6) the game can crash if you take too objects with you down the castle: to avoid problems the best thing to do is to put those you don't need just outside the village, if you don't want to sell them;
7) the character itself doesn't have invulnerability: he will get an almost complete one with the objects you can find in the dungeons.

Now I decided to post it since I think nobody will never claim for such an old game. And after all that is just a saved game, nothing more.

hi, I'm a big fan of CoTW.  I have a saved game myself, I'm not a programmer or anything like that... I just like to play it... I was wondering if you could still do some edit, I downloaded a game editor but I don't know how to use it... all I want is some sort of unlimited "restore all mana" potions so I can have a little help biggrin... my email is soulriotgrrl_lorenx@hotmail.com...
